Layered Hairstyles for Square Faces

A layered hairstyle is perfect for square faces, especially a medium-length layered style. This cut should fall at the jaw line to soften the sharp angles of a square shape face.

Medium Layered Hair

The ends of a medium layer style can be symmetrical, jagged or angled. Different end styles will look differently on the head and how it falls on the shoulders and against the face. To add volume to your do, consider keeping the top layer of your hair your regular full length. With the length in place, you can style the rest of your hair to feature layers of different lengths.

When it comes to the number of layers in this style, the more layers you have, the more volume the style will have. Always keep in mind, however, that this can raise difficulty with hair maintenance.

Styles

To narrow a round or square face, cut your hair at short angles falling around  your face.
For a more unconventional look, get long- and short-angled cuts and flip them away from your face. This will create a different look, but one achieved through what seems like regular approaches.
Those with square-shaped faces should try to avoid bangs, as the blunt look of bangs draws attention to the flat line of your boxy chin.
The bob haircut with medium layers is a popular style that leaves room for creativity with accessories and styling.
Choppy layers are also a good way to soften a square face because the focus will be on the layers and all the directions they go in.

Styling Medium Layers
It helps to apply mousse or similar product before blow drying. Using a round brush makes it easy to curl your layers best lace wigs either inward toward  your face or outward for a flip style. Blow drying your hair upside increases volume.

Accessorize
Whether your face is round, square or oval, just a little bit of accessorizing those medium layers can go a long way. Try a simple headband or a barrette to spice up your normal look.
